Welcome to the Northeast Regional Ocean Council

The Northeast Regional Ocean Council is a state and federal partnership with the goal of engaging in regional protection and balanced use of ocean and coastal resources.  NROC's coordinated approach reaches across state boundaries to find and implement solutions to the region's most pressing ocean and coastal issues. 

The partnership includes representatives from the following states and federal agencies –  

v     Maine                                                                                  v     National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

v     New Hampshire                                                                 v     US Environmental Protection Agency

v     Massachusetts                                                                   v     US Department of Interior

v     Vermont                                                                              v     US Army Corps of Engineers

Upcoming Meetings

Northeast Interagency Climate Meeting: The New England Federal Partners, representing 12 different federal agencies operating in the Northeast region, will be holding an Interagency Climate Meeting June 2-4, 2009 in Gloucester, MA.  (This meeting is by invitation only.)  Climate Meeting Agenda and Materials.  Directions to meeting location. 

Northeast Marine Spatial Planning Workshop: The Nature Conservancy, NOAA, and the Northeast Regional Ocean Council will be hosting a regional marine spatial planning workshop June 8-9, 2009 in Warwick, RI.  Managers, decision makers, resource stakeholders, and industries involved in the protection, restoration, and use of coastal and ocean resources will come together to discuss the future of MSP across the New England region.  (The workshop is by invitation only.)
